The North Rose window

Donated by Queen Blanche of Castile. (The panels immediately under the rose window are the arms of the Royal Houses of France and Castile.) The rose window depicts Mary and Christ at the center, surrounded by 4 doves and 8 angels. The outer ring depicts the 12 minor prophets agreeing that Christ would come from the line of David. The 12 squares are we of the kings of Judah (ancestors of Christ). The middle of the lower windows depicts St. Anne and her child Mary. The other 4 windows depict christ figures on top of anti-christ figures. From left to right - Melchizedek over King Nebuchadnezzar, King David over King Saul, King Solomon over King Jeroboam and Aaron over Pharoah.
