The South Rose window
Donated by Pierre Mauclerc (Count of Dreux & Duke of Brittany). The bottom panels of the bottom 5 sections show the family heraldry with the Duke and his wife followed on the outside by their two children. The upper panels of the bottom 5 sections show Mary with baby Jesus in the middle, and on either side from left to right: Jeremiah carries St. Luke, Isaiah carries St. Matthew, Ezekiel carries St. John and Daniel carries St. Mark. The rose portion shows Jesus in the middle, surrounded by a ring of 8 censing angels in pairs with the 4 symbols for the 4 evangelists (man, eagle, ox and lion) in between them. The outer two circles depict the 24 elders of the Apocalypse, each holding a musical instrument in the left hand and a "golden vial full of odours, which are the paryers of the saints" in the right hand.
