Antlers are over 6000 years old from the cervus megaceros (ancestor of the elk), found in the Siberian ice fields around 200 years ago. They are hung at the actual height of the animal.

  • The kings bedchamber - reserved for the King and distinguished guests. Note the people slept sitting up - laying down was reserved for the dead!

The fork tines are pointed down because Louis 15th grew tired of them snagging the lace on his sleves. Charles 10th put the glasses on the table as he could no longer tolerate the servants standing behind each guest eavsedropping on conversations.

  • The regulator clock (from the Louis 15th period) shows hours, minutes, seconds, day, date, phases of the moon. A clock like this was used to set all the other clocks in the château.
