  • We really enjoyed the nice table service.
  • Looking upstream on the Loire River from Chaumont-sur-Loire.
  • Benches along the grounds.
  • Another Bryan picture.
  • Chaumont-sur-Loire and the Loire.
  • Sign pointing to the château, just in case you didn't know.
  • Château entrance and gardens.
  • Château and river (in background on the left).
  • This is modern art! Forest of beams and bells crafted in 2008 by Jannis Kounellis, claimed to be a spectacular and powerful work of art. The artist has demonstrated his desire to "awaken" the château from slumber, with each bell representing a mouth letting out a scream. Enjoy!
  • The (empty) wine cellar. (I don't think the wiring is original.)
  • This is for making fast food!
  • Old ovens, modern art.
  • Not spiral stairs, triangular stairs.
  • Stairs down to (or up from) the kitchen.
  • The official room description.
  • The Ruggiere Room - named because of the symbol on the mantelpiece - Greek delta (initial of Diane) and 3 circles (full moons), which was the symbol for Cosimo Ruggieri.
  • Read the sign for more information on the room.
  • The Catherine de Medici Room. It contains the oldest tapistry in the château's collection - ""The Story of Perseus and Pegasus woven in the late 15th century.
  • 16th century throne depicting a heron swallowing an eel below two unicorns facing each other holding a shield.
