Naomi at one of the guns.

  • Our car - a Citroën C5 Touring. Worked well for us.
  • The Museum of the Battle of Normandy.
  • So tired! When will we get to more sleep? Also, bacon cheeseburgers are better in the USA.
  • A quiche lorrraine with frites.
  • The restaurant - Brasserie d'en Face. Name could mean Restaurant on the Opposite (side?).
  • Had great ice cream there twice!
  • The restaurant portion of our hotel. They had nice breakfasts overlooking the ocean.
  • Our hotel room window - one window left of middle on the first floor (French counting) or second floor (US counting).
  • Arromanches beach walk.
  • Sunset, port remains, people.
  • Sherman tank from the 2nd Armored Division of General Leclerc.
  • Bryan getting ready to take more pictures!
  • Arromanches and its beach.
  • Ready for a panorama picture?
  • Panorama of what's left of the port build at Arromanches.
  • The very red chairs and table at "Au p'tit creux de la Batterie" at Longues-sur-Mer Batterie, a German gun battery. Bryan had another croque monsieur and Naomi had a ham and cheese panini. Bryan discovered the Miko ice cream bars (double caramel in this case) were quite good.

  • Standing on the 4th gun battery looking at the other 3.
  • This was the command bunker. It would communicate with the batteries, giving them coordinates of where to fire. (The batteries were too far back to see what they were shooting at often.)
